The plan is for Toshiba's Toshiba Medical Systems to sell its 40 percent interest in Fujinon Toshiba ES Systems to partner Fujifilm Holdings on April 1. Fujifilm then is to transfer the endoscope business to Fujifilm Medical. Toshiba plans to place more emphasis on computerized tomography and other high-tech medical equipment as part of a goal to increase medical business sales by 16 percent by the 2011 fiscal year.
